lillian DU FEU {F}

Died 8 March 2002, Jersey
Lilian Du Feu Lilian's family worshipped at Grove Place (now St. Helier Methodist Centre). She joined Georgetown early in the Occupation when they were short of teachers. During the Occupation she was Joint Superintendent with Reg Jeune and for many years after she was a Sunday School teacher and leader. She was especially interested in Overseas Missions. She joined St. John's Ambulance Training in 1933 and attained the office of Commander of the Order of St. John, receiving the County Medal. She was County Secretary for over 20 years. She worked voluntarily in the library and archives of the Societe Jersiase for many years and supported other local groups. She was a book keeper in her daily occupation, always willing to help audit accounts, auditing L.P.M.A. funds and some Church Funds for long spells. Lilian became a fully accredited Local Preacher in 1949. She received her forty years certificate in 1989 from the President but refused her fifty year certificate because she said "I have not preached for the last ten years". She did however receive thanks from the President personally. She was meticulous in her preparation as a preacher, also greatly respected as she conducted worship in the Churches of the Circuit. On one memorable Liberation Day service she, Reg Jeune and I spoke on our differing perspectives on those years Lilian died on Friday March 8th after a short spell in hospital following a stroke. Moving with her zimmer frame she had till recently been a regular attender at worship and kept a keen interest in the church and preachers.
We give thanks to God for her life, service and witness

This is not a dress rehearsal!
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift.
That's why it is called the present!
